Flea treatments that work!

This used to be the domain of prescription-only medications, but no more. The government de-regulated a few products that have previously been only allowed to be sold through vets or with prescriptions and so now you have a genuine choice.

Non-prescription Flea Treatments: include Frontline and Effipro (both contain the same active ingredient) and do kill fleas (and ticks), but they do not stop them from jumping on/attaching to your pet so you may still see them. However, within 24-48 hours the fleas have ingested the product and die. Advantage has also recently been reclassified and no longer requires a prescription for purchase. Advantage prevents and treats fleas on dogs and cats, and also treats biting lice (Trichodectes canis) on dogs.

You do not require a prescription to buy these products, but we do require some information to ensure that you are using the correct prodcut for your pet, and also check whether you need help understanding how to use it. This means there are a few checkboxes to complete during the ordering process - but don't worry, this will only take a moment.

Prescription Flea Treatments: including Stronghold, Advocate and Frontline Combo and these orders cannot be sent out without us receiving a prescription from your vet. This can be sent by email, fax or post. Clients of Cornerstone Veterinary Centre, and Cornerstone @ Perton can order on-line without sending us a prescription if your pet is currently registered with us and we have an accurate weight.
