DAP Collar helps comfort puppies and adult dogs in situations they may find worrying or which makes them apprehensive. The collar stays on the dog at all times and helps with events both inside and outside the home including:

• Adjusting to a new environment (puppies, rescue dogs, dogs in kennels)
• A puppy's socialisation period
• Novel and unpredictable situations away from home
• Fear-related reactions expressed outside the home (traffic, other dogs, thunderstorms, gunshots etc)

The DAP collar works by releasing a constant stream of synthetic dog appeasing pheromone for a period of about 4 weeks. The dog appeasing pheromone is a substance produced naturally by a lactating bitch to reassure and calm her puppies as they explore and learn about the world around them.

Importantly this pheromone is also proven to have a positive relaxing and comforting influence on adult dogs, increasing their confidence in the outside world and making the process of accepting new or difficult stimuli more relaxed and less challenging.

How to use a DAP collar

• Fasten the collar around the dog's neck and adjust
• Cut off the excess portion of the collar
• Leave the collar around the dog's neck at all times
• The effect of the collar lasts for up to 4 weeks

Combining a DAP collar with the DAP diffuser may provide optimum results for dogs showing indoor and outdoor fears and for puppies or adult dogs settling into a new home. In multi-dog households, it is recommended that all dogs wear a DAP collar or that a DAP diffuser is plugged in.
